A. MURRAY/N. Davydenko 6‑1, 6‑1, 6‑4

ANDY MURRAY

Q.  What is the gesture you did in celebration?

ANDY MURRAY:  Well, it’s something for me and the guys that I work with.  I don’t really want to go into too much detail because I’ll end up getting asked about it every single day.

. DEL POTRO/R. Haase 6‑4, 3‑6, 7‑6, 7‑5

JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO

Q.  Was that perhaps a more difficult game than you expected today?

JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO:  Yeah.  Yeah, I think so.  He’s a big player to beat on grass court.  He’s very, very dangerous.  He doesn’t be seeded, so could be a dangerous opponent for all the players.

Today I’m glad because I beat him.  I play really well, and finally in the end I’m still feeling good sensations.  I close the match in good level, so that is very positive.

A. KEOTHAVONG/L. Pous‑Tio 6‑3, 6‑3

ANNE KEOTHAVONG

Q.  What a day.  A win and confirmation for the Olympics.  Were there any tears from you?

ANNE KEOTHAVONG:  There weren’t actually any proper tears, but I feel like I could cry because I’m so happy.

The news about the Olympics came on through before I went on court for my singles match this evening.  Just to have that confirmation, it’s just something I’ve always dreamt about, you know, something I’ve worked hard towards, and I’m just so proud to say I can be representing Great Britain at the Olympics this year.

J. WARD/P. Andujar 4‑6, 6‑0, 3‑6, 6‑3, 6‑3

JAMES WARD

Q.  You looked dead and buried in that fifth set.

JAMES WARD:  Did I?

Q.  How did you pull it out?  That was terrific fighting qualities.

JAMES WARD:  Yeah, I didn’t think I was dead.  I was only a break, you know, and you saw from the first game of the match I had looks on every single one of his service games by one or two in the third and fourth set.  So I always knew if I kept to my own serve and I started serving a bit smarter and towards the end of the match, because he was returning really well off his backhand, so I mixed it up, bit more body and forehand, and then got a few more free points.

P. KOHLSCHREIBER/T. Haas 3‑6, 7‑6, 6‑7, 7‑6, 6‑2

TOMMY HAAS

Q.  Talk about the Olympics.  How disappointed are you that you won’t be featured there this year?

TOMMY HAAS:  Yeah.  It’s, I mean, I guess a pill you have to swallow for not being nominated by the German Sport Committee, which I think if they would have just nominated me, I think the chances of getting a wildcard would have been quite high, but therefore the German people didn’t nominate their player.

It’s frustrating, but, you know, you have to accept the fact that they didn’t do it, and they have rules they follow and the criteria, and I didn’t match those.

So there you go.

E. BALTACHA/K. Knapp 4‑6, 6‑4, 6‑0

ELENA BALTACHA

Q.  Happy girl?

ELENA BALTACHA:  Yeah, I’m very happy.  Very, very happy for two things, of course:  One, you know, coming through that match it was tough; didn’t particularly start well.  Very tricky opponent.

I managed to get myself in the second set.  I know she had that little bit of a slip, but I think sometimes as well when you’re not sure how injured they are, know what you’re gonna do, how you’re going to play them.  That was a little bit tricky.

I managed to kind of get the second set done.  Felt like I played better, but was struggling with the serve.  I think it’s probably because I haven’t served for the last five days because I had a neck problem last week.  That probably had something to play on that.

But then, do you know what?  Third set started and I felt like I was kind of me, in a way.  I played well and I fought, and I was very, very delighted to have won that and to come through that being a set down.

As well, I was very, very emotional at the end, especially with Judy.  She told me that I got the wildcard for the Olympics.  I just really want to say thanks a lot to the ITF and the committee for giving me a place.

R. NADAL/T. Bellucci 7‑6, 6‑2, 6‑3

RAFAEL NADAL

Q.  What happened in the first few games of that match?

RAFAEL NADAL:  Well, happened that I had the breakpoint in the first game, so I think I played a good first game.  But he had a few chances at the first, and then two great serves in the advantage in the middle to the tee.

Then I played bad game with my serve.  Even I think I have game point for me, or few chances, but I had a few mistakes with my forehand.

And then he hit a fantastic returns in the 3‑0, so he played a great game.  I was lucky to be back, that’s the thing.  I feel lucky after 4‑0 to be able to win the set.

SERENA WILLIAMS

Q.  You let out quite a cry at the conclusion of that game.  Was it a question of relief?

SERENA WILLIAMS:  Definitely a little relief, and, you know, I think I was letting out a lot of cries.  I was happy to get through that.

D. GOFFIN/B. Tomic 3‑6, 6‑3, 6‑4, 6‑4

DAVID GOFFIN

Q.  You must be very pleased with your performance.  You hung in there very well and got stronger as you went on after a shaky start.

DAVID GOFFIN:  Yeah, it was a good performance.  It wasn’t good start, but I was feeling good.  I lost the first set, but I was feeling good and then continued to keep focus in my game.

Game after game it was better, and then I played really, really good game.  I served very well during all the match, and I was more aggressive after the first set.  He was running, and me, I was in the court.

So, yeah, I’m pretty happy.
